A man is missing and his family members are concerned for his safety after they started receiving calls demanding money for his return.

The report went in to police sometime around 7:00 on Sunday night when Jairo Campos, 47, of San Narciso village, Corozal informed that about half an hour earlier he received a call from a Smart phone number and that a man on the other end told him that his brother, Homero Campos, 43, who lives in the same village, was kidnapped and that his family needs to pay $10,000 for his release.
Campos said that when he checked about his brother’s whereabouts he found out that he had left home to go work at his farm, situated between San Narciso and San Victor villages and that he had not returned home and has not been seen or heard from.

Police are investigating the incident.
