POLICE OFFICER KILLED IN SAN PEDRO

A 25-year-old Honduran waiter of a San Pedro Town address is currently in Police custody pending investigation into the shooting death of Police Corporal Alfonso Guy, 51. Around 2:00 this morning Guy was found with gunshot wounds to the back of his head and abdomen inside his room located in the San Juan Area of San Pedro.

According to reports Guy was rushed to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic for treatment but was later airlifted out the the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City where he died around 2:30 a.m.

Preliminary indications from Police are that Guy and the suspect was inside the room when the suspect allegedly started to play with Guy’s service weapon, causing it to accidentally discharge, hitting Guy twice. Police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
