Volleyball 2019 In Belize Is Getting Real Competitive

This past weekend tournaments was a display of improvements in the sport of Volleyball in Belize, and a display of ‘Stepping Up To Another Level’.

Here Are The Results Of Sundays Tournaments
Kelsey Balderamos and Sherika Burton defeated Ayah Safa and Mya Musa to win Belize Volleyball Association’s 2019 Female Beach Volleyball Tour Stop #1 held at Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City, Belize on March 17, 2019.

Ayah/Mya placed second after their loss in the final (21-15, 21-16). Fatima Ramirez and Gareth Bruce placed third after defeating Emma Hoare and Isabelle Swasey 2-0 (21-16, 21-14). Cash prizes for this female team event were 1st: $500, 2nd: $300 and 3rd: $150.

Iman Safa and Marci Mejia won 2 Bluetooth Speakers (courtesy GS-Com) for being the top scoring U18 Team from the Qualifying Round.

Ten female teams participated. This weekend’s event was sponsored by National Sports Council, Ashley Furniture Store and GS-Com. The next beach stop (male and female) will be held on March 31, at Old Belize. For regular updates and more information, please visit “Belize Volleyball” Facebook page.
