4 Belizeans Held In Guatemala – Free To Return To Belize

Thursday, April 11th.  - REPORTER NEWS STAFF - 

The Belize Ministry of National Security issued a release earlier today announcing that the four Belizeans held in a Porto Barrios prison after an incident in Livingston, Guatemala have been set free.

The release states that, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Security hereby inform that the four Belizeans detained after an incident in Livingston, Guatemala since 6 April 2019, have been released.

They are Messers Fabian Laurie, Pedro Colomer, Kevin Hernandez and Jerille Laurie. After their hearing this morning the charges were dropped allowing them to return home.”

The four men had been detained after Guatemalan Police were called to their hotel room to investigate an allegation that the men were disturbing the peace. In the room Police discovered a shotgun, a 9mm pistol and ammunition for both.
