Musa Sticks To His Creed

Friday, April 12th. By Marion Ali -

Former Prime Minister and PUP Area Representative, Said Musa indicated in the House this afternoon that he will abstain from today’s vote on the ICJ Referendum Bill that Prime Minister Dean Barrow introduced this morning for debate.

Musa explained that while he feels that the time for Belize and Guatemala to settle our age old territorial differendum is now, he will not defy his party.

Musa said that while he will abstain today, when Referendum Day comes, he will vote “Yes” because he must remain true to himself and to his convictions.

During the first portion of the Sitting, there was an assembly of several hundred persons outside the National Assembly Building, consisting of supporters and opponents of the ICJ Referendum.
